Description:
In my spare time I am restoring a 1979 Z28 Camaro. I replaced the original automatic transmission with a 4-speed manual, and subsequently needed to replace the console to fit the different shift lever. Unable to source an OEM 4-speed console, I decided to make my own. I modelled the original automatic console in Solidworks, and modified it to fit the new shifter placement and added gauge cluster mounts. I used Solidworks sheet-metal toolset to create individual pieces and water-jet cut out of 12Ga aluminum at a local shop. Fabrication and welding done in house.
