Description:

Scripted and developed a Matlab GUI to aid underwing pressure tap analysis. Underwing pressure tap data read from vehicle telemetry system, post-processed and viewed as a 3D color / contour map using delaunay triangulation. Used to efficiently and quickly compare underwing pressure differences between two separate outings, at specific locations around a track. This type of analysis is critical during in-season testing events, as pressure tapped wings are not allowed during race weekends. Visualizations will indicate where the floor is losing pressure / stalling in specific vehicle states. This helps to optimize the ride platform of the car; ie. how to setup the car to optimize mid-corner ride heights and roll gradient for most efficient use of the underwing.

Features:

  • 3D view of floor contours.

  • Vehicle state averages (speed / ride heights / roll) shown in SI or imperial units.

  • Ability to cycle through different laps of each outing.

  • Ability to specify point on track where contour taps are averaged.

  • Speed trace visualization of both outings.
