Description:
Scripted and developed a Matlab GUI to aid underwing pressure tap analysis. Underwing pressure tap data read from vehicle telemetry system, post-processed and viewed as a 3D color / contour map using delaunay triangulation. Used to efficiently and quickly compare underwing pressure differences between two separate outings, at specific locations around a track. This type of analysis is critical during in-season testing events, as pressure tapped wings are not allowed during race weekends. Visualizations will indicate where the floor is losing pressure / stalling in specific vehicle states. This helps to optimize the ride platform of the car; ie. how to setup the car to optimize mid-corner ride heights and roll gradient for most efficient use of the underwing.
Features:
3D view of floor contours.
Vehicle state averages (speed / ride heights / roll) shown in SI or imperial units.
Ability to cycle through different laps of each outing.
Ability to specify point on track where contour taps are averaged.
Speed trace visualization of both outings.
