Project Ada | Custom Annealing Oven

Description:

The robotic platform "Ada" is used to perform high throughout laboratory experiments. I designed a custom oven capable of accepting glass slides from a robotic arm. The oven accepts up to 2 glass slides (3 x 1 in), and can heat them via forced convection up to 280 C. A custom controller was used to control ramp rate and final temperature hold through a PID controller (script written in python). This oven was used for hundreds of experiments, and contributed to our groups recent paper "Advancing the Pareto front using a self-driving laboratory" published in Science Advances.
