Description:

Working as a design engineer / crew chief assistant, I was tasked with designing an exhaust header for a GTL SCCA race car. Project goal was to manufacture a light-weight, corrosion resistant, header that would replace an existing exhaust, and fit within the existing engine bay. I was responsible for the entire design cycle from prototyping, CAD design, fabrication, welding, and testing. Header lengths, and pipe design (4-to-1), were specified by the engineer tuner we worked with during the race season. CAD design completed in Solidworks using weldment tools.
